The Global Livingston Institute (GLI) is a not-for-profit organization located in Denver, Colorado, focused on educating big thinkers and global travelers on innovative approaches to international development and on improving global communities. GLI organizes several programs within Eastern Africa to provide cultural learning opportunities and to influence positive change. In efforts to motivate development, GLI has established two campuses in Uganda to create jobs for sustainable living.
The 2017 Uganda Institute for Service Learning will allow counselors to participate in a mental health summit to learn about mental health needs and resources directly from local experts and present on topics in a cross-cultural mental health exchange. In addition, participants will visit various communities and organizations to learn about Ugandan culture and development. Participants will also experience a camera safari at Akagera National Park in Rwanda.

*Participants will be transported to the Entusi Resort and Retreat Center on Lake Bunyonyi by a 15 minute boat ride. The resort’s accommodations encompass large tents with comfortable bedding and shared bathrooms and showers.
